Boston Symphony Hall logo

Boston Symphony Hall is the home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO).

Before I joined the team, Sametz Blackstone has developed logos for BSO as well as the Orchestra’s two other ensembles, the Boston Pops Orchestra and Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Our client came to us one day and asked for an additional mark that would represent their beautiful historic venue, and the logo has to work with the other logos in a series. I visited the venue and took close to a hundred photos, capturing all the interesting details that are only known to audience who had been at the site. I came up with several elegant marks that were inspired by those details but after several rounds of review, we came to a conclusion that nothing was as recognizable as the building itself.
